Still. It's less the specific nature of her powers and more the sheer extent of them. She's insanely versalite and powerful in a Skitter-ish way.

That'd be a great little "dun-dun-dun" moment. And also at least a little bit of an explanation for how Lapis managed to get back so quickly: she just found some warp pad on another planet.
I like how, before this episode, Peridot smiled so little that it caused a mild fandom sensation when someone discovered "Warp Tour" model sheets with a disembodied smiling Peridot head. And then this episode comes along and she's grinning like an idiot all the time. I think she enjoys being on Earth and fighting the…
The crazy thing is that the episode quality in #2 was good enough that Sworn to the Sword is only my second- or third-favorite from that week.
Fusion isn't sex, but it sure is fun to make jokes about how it is.
Last time I visited generals on /co/ they completely destroyed my appreciation of the work in question. There's some fun stuff that comes out of that community but it's not worth the density of shitposting
Sounds like they're a bunch of swingers.
Eh, I was joking a little (it's definitely not an "original" thing to do), but I would like to see that dynamic further explored, given that I think Horror Club was the show's best use of Ronaldo so far.
I just noticed that after Pearl crashes into Garnet and they both freak out, she starts reaching for Garnet's arm out of reflex before stopping herself.
If they're out of original things to do with them, there's always a potential Lars/Sadie/Ronaldo love triangle to exploit.
It'd be funny if the new line of Homeworld gems were unable to regenerate or shapeshift and so Peridot's next appearance just featured her hobbling around everywhere.
I wonder what their fusion dance looked like in such close quarters…
It's getting demolished for a new interstellar bypass, I bet.
If Matt Burnett is any indication, CN's crazy aggressive scheduling for this show has finally run the well of new content dry:
You know, I've been thinking: if the Pink Diamond theory is true, then this would make Rose Quartz the former leader of an alien race with a strict caste system who converts to the side of the humans, going so far as to take on some of their secondary sexual characteristics and even eventually marry one.
I mean, I'm happy that they were ambiguous about what it represented. It let them explore the theme without having to make a necessarily moral judgement. Can you imagine if people on tumblr started calling Pearl a rapist in addition to an abusive lovesick parent who doesn't really care about Steven?
I think part of the problem is that fusion is simultaneously both a utilitarian thing that you use to defeat enemies or destroy Gem technology, and also a very intimate almost consummatory thing that inherently requires consent. So there's not exactly a precise sex/relationship analog to what Pearl did (which I'm…
Anyone care to rank the Stevenbombs?
Kinda funny how the resolution to the Garnet/Pearl fusion fiasco came by a room that literally forced them together. I was hoping they'd exploit that a little more, but it was neat symbolism as-is.
I liked this one. I was expecting something scary from the promo, but instead it's actually a bit of a throwback: it's like "Serious Steven" with Peridot and character arc resolution. (Ironically, this episode sees him be more competent than ever and fully in touch with his inner goofball.)
