The 27th.

"…and FBI agents don't hold hands!"
"These ones do."
"And sleep in the same bed."

How would I use these grades?

This was a great episode, but I'm still a little confused at what would compel a show with maybe some of the most consistent and technically perfect 2D animation on TV to introduce claymation as a gimmick.

From all of the stuff I saw on the gravity falls staff tumblr, I was expecting this episode to be a hell of a lot more cute than it wound up being.

Eh, Melody *was* kinda "passively compliant". Just saying. I don't think really think this episode's message about relationships works on any level deeper than "just be yourself", and I don't think they were even trying to address the idea of male entitlement at all. Soos is perfectly happy with himself, and the

I liked Soos better early on, when he was silly in a much more taciturn way than he is now.

I initially misread it as "Meat Cube", which I have to say is marginally funnier.

I got the impression from this review that this is his least favorite episode in the series so far.

The thing is, I think the show is just *better* when it hits those notes. A lot of the gags, if they aren't based in true-to-life observations, wind up feeling like pretty obvious set-ups, at least to me. The show's comedic timing is, personally, right on this side of being forced to me, and emotional resonance is

I'm not as down on the episode as either of you, but I do think that Soos's ability to be very earnest about very stupid things would've been a more interesting character trait to build a story around than Soos being terrified of women.

I think this is the first time this has happened. The show's actually pretty realistic about romantic outcomes: neither Dipper/Wendy, Stan/Lazy Susan, nor any of Mabel's crushes have panned out.

I loved the way they looked like they were about to set up a nightmare scene when Mabel had all the sock puppets on her bed, before going in a completely different direction with Bill.

A lot of little animation things this season have reminded me of Adventure Time. The shapeshifter, the dissected screaming head, the way Bill Cipher pours the soda on Dipper's face…

Agreed. Although personally, I felt that the scene where Dipper's body starts failing while Bill is in it was a little off. I feel like it would've been more dramatic had he just fainted.

I think the fact that Dipper's only idea for the password was "type in a bunch of random words, security be damned" is good evidence that he's not nearly as smart as he thinks he is.

I like the idea of McGucket being the author just because it gives Stan a perfectly good reason to be terrified of Pioneer Day.

It's amusingly psychotic, but not exactly a Mark Hammill or a John deLancie. Most of his dialogue is delivered in a similar (and kinda annoying) tone of voice. It's pretty impressive that Hirsch can voice a lot of characters well while also running the show, though.

Gabe was surprisingly hilarious for a one-off love interest character. His little routine about literacy had me rolling, as were his constant puppet makeouts. (What else can you do with hand puppets, anyway?)

I love how that's a callback, but still sounds bizarre enough to qualify as a one-off gag to people who are watching this for the first time.
