Yas.
Yas.
And yet, you have not yet written a four-paragraph essay about how you didn’t really have to, or want to, and how imperfect she is, and what a struggle it was to reconcile your personal purity-tests against the grim meathook realities of the candidates, and how you’d much rather vote for someone you’re personally…
As a straight white male:
Those dudes all expect participation ribbons at the very least.
You guys are reading Deadspin (and the cohort they represent) for filth and I am here for it.
Thank you! In the other post, I ranted about why I’ve had enough of the entitled white male schtick. Just shut the fuck up. Shut the fuck up. This is not your election. This is mine.
“I will be watching the election results from Trump Tower in Manhattan with my family and friends.”
Electioneering: the activity of trying to persuade people to vote for a particular political party.
It’s a voting booth, not a rock concert. The slope on wearing campaign gear to a voting location is textbook “slippery slope” on electioneering laws.
When voting restrictions intended to suppress the votes of people you don’t like ends up suppressing your own idiot base.
I will cop to the fact that the whole registration system is ludicrous.
Thank god I live in Washington state where all balloting is done by mail (you get your ballot on the 24th of October) and you are registered automatically when you get your drivers license.
I don’t want to give Pepe the Frog Trumpers more credit than they deserve, but this sure seems like trolls trolling the Trump trolls to make them look even stupider. And for what it’s worth, I’m thinking they’re doing a bang up job of it.
Because we aren’t fucking idiots.
I love you all so, so much.
I think saying you’re “holding your nose” to vote for a presidential candidate is just a weird way to put it. What you’re doing is voting for someone who you don’t entirely agree with because of the only two options that will come to pass, you know one is better than the other. It’s the same thing most of the…
I wish it was a surprise that all the female staff are upfront about voting for Hillary while a lot of the (mostly white) male staff either aren’t voting for either candidate because they’re not in a contested state or have to “hold their nose” to vote for her.
Are you saying that the US President is an “unaccountable emperor?” Because really? The Prime Minister in any parliamentary system has more power than the US President. Let alone, you know, North Korea.
“Unaccountable emperor?”
I’m going to rant, pointlessly, in the greys. Do you hate the system? Do you want to change things? Then get involved in local government. Hell, get involved with the party you most agree with, and change it. Don’t make a vague plan to vote for the perfect thing that will be just the best, once you come up with it.
For the “holding your nose” contingent, has there ever been a major party nominee for President who you were excited to vote for because of their proposed policies?
