I think it’s in spite of those...
I swear the automatic transmissions in these cars were made of glass.
My sister had one. It spontaneously combusted in a parking lot.
626s and MX6s I still see on the regular. Hell a friend of mine has 4 MX6s, 1 626s, and 1 Probe GT.
I hope they find one of these. I always thought they were good looking cars and like the classic songs from Vanessa Carlton, Suzanne Vega, Dido, and The New Radicals (I can’t believe those are classics now) these Mazdas should be cherished.
I stole this ad link from commenter “Totally 80's”, so he/she gets full credit for finding this, but I wanted to be sure you saw it:
With it’s propensity to eat head gaskets and transmissions at an alarming rate, it’s no surprise there’s few left uncrushed...
DO WANT
Around 2005 I was considering a Millennia as a bargain second car. Every one I test drove had something horribly wrong with the engine. Lesson being, second owners can’t afford to fix them.
I had two, unfortunately. The first was a 1983 Tempo that was my dad’s, which he had bought new in 1983. He had been warned not to by everyone he knew. This only emboldened him. He gave it to me and my sister to drive while we were in high school when he “upgraded” to a slightly used 1990 Mazda pickup with no power…
It’s funny how fast the left turn on each other.
If there were anymore salt in this post, I’d need some pepper.
That is fucking awesome 😂😂😂😂 I always though about a Hyundai Excel for the same reason, and just beat the crap out of it
Jalopnik rule number 1: “Don’t fuck with another persons car.”
James May seems to love it. But that’s James May.
I think that is resellers marking up a retired set. Amazon isn’t actually doing the marking up.
Everyone on Jalopnik is right wing? Have you been here long?
Yea I meant the naturally aspirated one. Because honestly, how many people would spring for the GTi model? And while 8.8 seconds to 60 isn’t slow, this think has 117 horses. It’ll run out of steam quickly. But its too small for me to feel comfortable in driving on US roads.
Exactly. Everyone that wanted something like this either has a Spark or a 500. There is no market for anymore dangerously slow and small city cars.
