I’m driving from Kansas City to Houston tomorrow. Missouri City to be specific. Not looking forward to the parts where I hit Dallas and Houston. Wichita and OKC will be a breeze in comparison.

Neutral:

The bean counters probably said no.

Better to have it too high than too low.

Honestly, blame the film industry. They’ve been portraying and idolizing this type of behavior for decades. Baby Boomers weren’t well liked by their elders either when they were young.

$13,200? How about $132 and so that I can take it straight to the scrapper and then pay for my Uber home.

Woof. All of a sudden the Bolt isn’t so unfortunate looking anymore.

Kansas City is fairly flat for the most part but it’s nowhere near Amsterdam flat. It’s mostly gentle rolling hills and gradual undulations. The river bluffs are pretty hilly here though but that’s only a small part of the city. For the most part KC is flat enough that it won’t cause you any serious problems in snowy

That’s funny because I do flight simulator flights all the time. But this is a bit more hands on than a flight simulator flight. You can’t just stick the truck on autopilot like you can in the flight simulator. They are both simulators though so naturally they do attract the same type of gamer.

Wouldn’t surprise me. They also have machines that shake the crap out of cars to simulate years of driving on rough roads.

The American version is much the same as the European version. Just different trucks and different scenery. They are both great but Euro Truck Simulator 2 offers more in the base game and more DLC. Unless you really want to drive a long hood Peterbilt or Kenworth, I would just stick with the Euro version for now.

I think that the underground roundabouts in Norway are very cool in that game. Oregon is the next state coming for the American version. I also own My Summer Car as well. I enjoy that game but certain aspects of it are a real pain in the ass. The creator of that game definitely has an interesting sense of humor and

Yeah it’s a real thing and there is a very popular European version of the game as well. I know that a trucking simulator probably sounds boring and weird but you’d be surprised at how fun and addicting it is.

I’ve been playing the version 1.32 public beta for American Truck Simulator which now allows trailer ownership in the game. I bought a triple flatbed trailer and it’s a lot of fun to pull it. You definitely can make sharper right hand turns with it than a single 53 foot trailer and it’s oddly satisfying to look in

I’ll stick with the USD until/if that ever happens.

How do you buy what you want when next to nowhere accepts bitcoin?

It’s amazing how complicated stuff is on cars that we just expect to work all of the time no matter what. Door locks and door handles definitely fit into that category for me. I’d never really thought about how much engineering it takes to make them work and do so reliably.

Yeah you are right about that but I really don’t drive my car hard enough to justify summer tires. All season tires are like crossovers. They are adequate in every situation but never the best in any situation. For most drivers that is going to be fine.

Yeah see I don’t understand a fucking thing about this whole “mining” thing with bitcoins.

Ouch. Yet another example of why I am failing to see the point of bitcoin.
