Agree 1000% with this, and this is why I get so angry with them for wasting Henry Cavill. Dude is legit the best Superman since Reeves and if we’d just given him a few movies of figuring himself out and being nice and not, you know, leveling cities and such...sigh.

More things should have Ian McShane in them, not least because he’s pushing 80 at this point. David Milch is nearly as old and has Alzheimer’s to boot, which makes me appreciate all the more that they actually managed to pull off the Deadwood movie.

I am watching Deadwood again for the 7th or 8th time, and so I must state the obvious: Ian McShane is an absolute treasure, and makes everything he is in better.

Hackman’s sleazy conman version of Luthor is an absolute joy, and would have worked really well when paired with the corrupt corporate CEO version the comics went with in the ‘80s and ‘90s.

You know, I let him have Otisburg. He was a lot less annoying than his jackass boss I allowed Australia. Otis was a good groveler, and good people.
