Actually the phone is erased during upgrade and settings, apps, contacts etc. are restored from your backup. It's a clean install.

I promoted your comment just so others could see how depraved fanboyism has become.

"Don't be evil."

Schmidt, Executive Chairman of Google, carrying the "water" for big huge government spying. Gross.

My thought is that this is future proofing. When the time comes where 64bit is common, Apple will have most of its apps already coded for 64 bit. They are just tooting their horns to be the first major OEM to have it. I believe every OEM would do the same.

My understanding is that developers will be able to code both 32bit and 64 bit apps pretty easily with Apple's developer tools.

So you can be a fan of either and still be geek. My mother and sister, both techno-tards, use Android (free phones from T-Mobile). However, I wouldn't extrapolate that all Android owners are techno-tards because they own Android and know nothing about tech. That's my point.

I guess Wozniak isn't a real geek either based on your fanboy logic.

Same principle. Where do you think Star Trek TNG got the idea? These came in all shapes and sizes in the early to mid 80's. I had a pair very similar as what was seen in Star Trek. They were called Uni-Shades.

I think he is trying to channel his inner 16 Candles nerd lineup

I'm offended by people pretending to be a geek. Stop riding our jocks! I am revoking your geek card.

Well, I've been using a cell phone in the car since 1992.

Perhaps you should say who UH is? University of Hawaii, University of Houston etc. Not sure UH is a commonly known acronym.

Way better for some things, not way better for others.

Eric, if you like this, you'd be absolutely in love with the music from the early 80's.

Muscle memory is an awesome thing. I don't even have to look at the phone. I can dictate an email, answer a call, text or pull up a navigation app without even looking at the phone.
