As a lifelong martial artist I'm very interested in the combat in this game. One thing I didn't see in any videos were any disarms when an opponent had a weapon. He kind of beat on them but left them with the weapon it seemed. Are there actual disarms without taking the opponent out or is it a matter of defeating the

Precisely.

THQ has had a history of fairly poor post-release support lately anyway. Example: Despite the lack of patching in the latest UFC title (ostensibly due to the new EA deal, but I don't think so because...) the 2009 and 2010 editions weren't handled much better. Neither have their wrestling titles...or their action

Why do I get the feeling this has something to do with how Microsoft supposedly handles fees for patches and updates?

Good job Mom. It's totally the fault of the Xbox and not your fault for being inattentive as a parent over a four day period. As a parent of a young child (11) this kind of crap always bugs me. This is almost as bad as people who let their TVs raise their kids...actually, on second thought, this is worse.

A lot of this is very valid. However, there's a few uses of would and won't I can't get behind. You do not know what Microsoft will or won't do in the future or what the Windows store will be (given that you are a .net developer, you aren't high enough up to be making those decisions so you won't know for certain).

Let's see what you've got Steam. My wallet and I are ready. Challenge Accepted.

A lot of people obviously. Me, I'll be waiting for a bit if I buy one at all. In my time as a gamer (since '86) I've owned every major console and the failure rate of my Microsoft consoles is giving me pause. Two Original Xbox's had drive issues, and both my 360 and my son's 360 required replacements after they red

Those are some awesome packages. I wonder if there will be some other way to get this "extra" stuff for those of us who already own all of these games and their DLC's (like Festival of Blood).

How is the PC port coming along? Is it finished or still some last minute optimizations to be done. Already have the game pre-ordered.

Just how many times is someone going to use (mistakenly or not) ARMA 2 footage as real footage in some form of media? Because this isn't the first or even second time this has happened. Next thing you know, someone is going to use DayZ footage to claim that a real-life zombie infestation is occurring.

Thanks for that. That might come in handy for me in the near future.

For myself I have my PS2, PS3, 360 and my PC hooked up. My son has his 360 and his PC hooked up and also games on his DS Lite and 3DS. Both PC's are gaming PC's I built. My fiancee uses her ASUS gaming laptop. I had other older systems hooked up as well (Genesis through N64) but I just run those games on my PC now to

You are not alone.

I would expect the beta to BF4 to be open to people who bought BF3 premium myself, as opposed to people buying a Medal of Honor game. The folks who went premium are likely to be very dedicated and likely to be both able and willing to provide real and usable feedback.

Pretty cool and a fairly original setting for a tech demo. Found this part personally amusing...

They actually aren't, not even half of them. If you run it on a PC with an SSD and have it set up to monitor activity you can see that the loading times do not in any way correlate to the length of the cutscenes and how they display a loading message when you try to skip them. The time until you can skip them remains

It's been reported that it took him 15 years to make that costume...

I'll get it. I enjoy the Halo series enough to spring for a higher rez remake of Halo 2 to round out my "HD" Halo collection. It's the only missing piece other than the unreleased Halo 4.
