@AnAppleADay...: yes, which is why it takes a hit to the corner to shatter it while landing directly on the screen would likely do nothing.

@AnAppleADay...: Actually most breaks on previous iphones have come from the phone landing right on the corner edge of the phone. These cases would prevent that.

Dammit I don't know what to do. I was gonna get the new iPhone for sure before today but now I'm seriously thinking of waiting. If it were out on any other carrier the same day the decision would be quite easy for me but I'm just really annoyed by ATT right now.

@HardwareWars: Good to know verizon can be as frustrating as ATT in certain parts of the country. It makes me feel a little better.

I really don't think these kids were "tricked" into anything. These kids were probably gay. They might even have been playing the game to meet other guys. I could be completely wrong but I think my explanation makes a shitload more sense than the whole trickery idea.

I've been told by phone repairmen that the iPhone's screen is the easiest screen to fix. They say it costs them about $5 and takes a few minutes.
