It’s sad that it takes something so tragic to produce so many beautiful moments. Everything last night with the Marlins and now this.

Fuck you Patrick for getting me to feel good about something that was a positive for the Cardinals.

Bill Buckner was actually sitting in the row in front of them. When everyone started trying to look under his seat, he growled, “Don’t you f***in’ dare.”

Played the game the way it should be played. By having fun.

Jose Fernandez has made me cry twice. This MLB video of him reuniting w his abuela, and again today when I heard the news of his passing.

First he buckled Jean Segura

Such a tragic loss. Buster Olney was on talking about how Jose showed him this video right after he took it at the Fort Bragg game. Fernandez was in awe about the flyover and Olney said it was clear how much Fernandez loved being in the United States. And also that Fernandez took a flag that a soldier was getting a

He’s brave to get up there and try to talk about this. A young man with such a profound impact made already, and clearly someone with so much more to do and to give, just lost like that is gonna break hearts...even Dan Lebatard had a hard time talking about him.

True story: when Fernandez first came over to the US he spent time crawling on the floor of an airport bathroom trying to figure out how to flush and wash his hands because he didn’t realize that the toilets and sinks had motion sensors.

That snag was ridiculous, but the reactions made it. RIP Jose.

Being a cubs fan this year hasn’t been short on wins. When Fernandez faced them this year, I was actually rooting for him since what’s one game? I loved watching him dominate and have fun doing it. He was one of my favorite current players, this is just terrible.

As he should be remembered:

So horrible. Sports desperately needs people who bring the sort of joy that he brought to every game.

He was one of the best pitchers in the game, with his greatest years ahead of him. With Stanton, he was one of the key pieces of a Marlins team bound for great things someday. He was one of baseball’s most exciting young talents. And now he’s gone.

This is a Thurmon Munson-level tragedy for MLB, just absolutely traumatizing news.

Too young.

A great young man and a great talent. RIP.
