In this instance it means that there is little to no freedom in farming systems. If you have a problem with a few words, maybe you’re beginning to realise that animals farming is a disaster for the planet.

Animals that exist in unnatural numbers because of farming and whose grazing land pushes out and leads to the extinction of other animals. These animals don’t need to exist in such large numbers, that’s not an argument in support of farming.
I can’t find the 2% figure I was quoted so here’s a link to one that says 4% by biomass. Still a shocking figure. https://ourworldindata.org/mammals.
It’s OK for cows not to be born. They don’t have to exist in such unnaturally large numbers. They are only born now to suffer, so that’s not really an argument in defence of factory farming. And it’s funny you mention wild animals. The majority of land mammals on this planet are in farming systems. Only about 1-2% are…
Absolutely terrifying and depressing to read the comments here and see so little compassion for farmed animals. This documentary doesn’t even feature an animal living on a particularly bad farm, yet its life is still characterized by suffering. You may care more about people in Ukraine dying or about your tasty…
The cowis suffering. I’m sorry that affects you and causes you to lash out, but farming is largely pain and suffering and a very early death for animals.
Because you might enjoy the taste of animal protein while not actually wanting an animal to die. It’s pretty simple.
So that an animal doesn’t grow up in suffering before its slaughtered after a few months of life. It’s important to some people.
What we really, really need is a new Shining Force game from Sega!
Looks a bit like a horror remake of The Vicar of Dibley.
Lounge Act might be my fav track on th whole album. But it really is all good.
Eternals takes risks. Iron Man 3 takes risks too. I don’t think the MCU takes many, but they’re there. Love them or hate them, both those films do something different.
He is definitely playing Spiderman again. That’s great news! So excited.
I like most of these but Nilüfer Yanya wins for me.
I think this observation says more about your personal experiences around the time Oasis were popular than what they actually represented. Yes, they fine-tuned their appeal by pretending to be more stupid than they were, but their audience was wide and varied and went way beyond young, working-class men and “lads”.
I know what you mean although having now seen BigBug I kind of feel it says even more about French society than Delicatessen.
Delicatessen was my first experience of Jeunet and my goodness, it was a revelation. It was a dark, scary, beautiful cartoon, which this looks to be too. I still love it, its still me favorite of his, and I hope I feel the same way about this too. Definitely going to watch it.
Not that interested, I might p-arson this this film.
All the poor child hears is that Wishaw is the sentient voice of Paddington, tearing itself free of the vocal chords, jumping from the poor bear’s throat, dislocating the jaw on the way, and running down the road. *Ben Wishaw voice* How traumatic.
No, it’s the Ben Wheatley, which should be interesting
