Is it a good film? No, not at all. Are parts uncomfortably offensive by standards then as well as now? Oh, yes. Did I almost die laughing when Bernie fell off the boat and started clanging. Yes, I believe I did.

It was a good episode, I do enjoy it most when they’re breaking into places under the nose of Homelander, but my absolute favorite scene was seeing A-Train get to feel like a proper hero. His arc was wearing thin (and I do think the actor and character are underrated) but that really made it worthwhile for me in an…

The perfect time to analyse and reject your pathetic post was when you wrote it. That you still published it speaks volumes. If you think the fetus is a baby at the stage abortion is allowed, you are monumentally ignorant. If you think that all in all cases pregnancies should be brought to term then you are ignorant…
I think you’ve confused being “modern” with modernity which seems a very post-modern thing to do.
Even if you wrote that film about the same issues, I’m pretty sure Berlin itself is as much a character in that film as anyone esle and that unique feel of that city in that postwar time is not something a new film can capture.
Possession is a film from a very particular time and place which, absolutely, cannot be recreated. This remake will be a polished, clean pastiche which will miss everything that made the original weird and ugly.
I know The Boys is a lot of “shock for the sake of shock” but I also adore it for being easy to watch, often funny and happy to make the bad people really, very bad
I love the way they’re all like “X moved to Punxatawney and worked in the studio with this producer, creating a more layered, nuanced sound before ditching it all and starting again for truly sophisticated results, making the sound of the summer...” and you play the YouTube clip and it’s all the same old, boring…
Absoluteley!
Great news. I think he’s a good director but these weren’t films for him and visually they were dull, not to mention the story. Then Godzilla Minus One came along and exposed how lacking his films were
I’d rather be dull and correct than the alternative
Are you left-wing? Centre-right? Is that where Jew-hating now sits on the politcial spectrum?
I don’t think, right now, I hate a TV character as much as Homelander. If and when he goes down it will be a thing of beauty. When that should happen, after how many seasons, is harder to judge.
Closet racists, on the right and centre-right, love to attack Jews any opportunity they get. They’ve devoured the conspiracy theories about Jews controlling Hollywood and the world and have been waiting to “teach them a lesson” for a stupid Israeli government. Their favorite saying is “I never liked Seinfeld anyway!”.…
He has a great voice, but for me he’s not tall enough
I know, I do agree that people seem to be watching them, but I’ve tried - really tried - and they’re all just a bit too dull for me.
Doesn’t say it has to be horror films, so how about The One Ring? It’s terrifying in concept. The more you wear it, the more twisted and obsessed you become, and it could be used to control all these other rings people thought were beneficial. And when it’s finally destroyed it destroys a whole realm
It made sense in the past, when our understanding of how the universe worked was limited, but thats no excuse now. Don’t you think that for most of human history the religious, and those at the head of religion, looked down on everyone as less than them? And oppressed them or used thier “divine knowledge” to control…
I’ve been bored by pretty much everything he does, so no doubt the Exorcist will defy another attempt. How does such an insipid creator get so much work?
