I played a 5th ed session last night and as a level 5 Monk, I got taken out by one (goddam thing had poison in his shield hand). It was worth it, however, as I got to punch the ever living shit out of it with a flurry of blows before succumbing to the vile taint.

Seems like a mistaken idea of what doing it is for. You do it so that the edges don’t freeze stuck to the windshield and it definitely does work. I learned last year.
