Oh yeah, definitely picking this up tomorrow.

Wild how “games be good” is a surprising reason for a console being successful.

Now playing

Gonna post this video in every article this is relevant in:

Unfortunately there’s a lot of people, probably on this very site, who will proudly claim that they don’t play games for the story.

Christ. You are every execs wet dream.

“What did you expect when you paid $70 for your video game?  A finished product?”

It’s called context and that people are expecting better things from Arcane.  And sure having non-animated cutscenes might be a “stylistic choice”--doesn’t mean it’s a good one.

I”ve thought about that a lot: I was also a weird teenager that was obsessed with getting a girlfriend and/or having sex, and there was absolutely a moment where I believed that I could never get a girlfriend because something was wrong with me.

But I eventually grew out of that phase.  Makes me wonder if I was born

True story: I went snooping around one of the main incel sites (incel.me I think) and one of the first threads I saw was how all of the incels should start voting republican so that conservative will make women sex slaves.

And it was told with a level sincerity that was as unnerving as it was hilarious.

Basically the idea is that, when a crab attempts to move outside of the buckets, the other crabs will pull it back down.

Apply that to the incel community.

It’s neither.  The whole point is to force the gamer to get creative with their inventions, so you never know what you’re going to get, but you still have to make it work.

Because he’s wrong even on that front. His argument is that there was some golden period in which everyone started out on the same foot. And that is, horse shit. Twitter is a company that wants to make profit, and it has always been incentivized to push accounts that will cause engagement. that’s it.

This is all

I think what I find so fascinating is how MAGAites, Musk simps, and other weird incels have to twist and shape the narrative to avoid one objective truth: That Elon Musk spent 44 billion dollars on a platform that had less of an influence than Facebook. So the narrative has to turn to more culture war bullshit. That,

yeah..that ain’t it.

Yo but when that saxophone kicked in?

Yeah I’m also not entirely sure what a “good narrative” would be within the context of a Mario movie. That isn’t to say that the narratives in Mario games are bad: I tend to believe that the storytelling comes from less the dialogue, and more the moment-to-moment game play and the fantastic level and world design.

It

I really, really, REAALLY dislike the re-designs following the 2 year time skip.  It’s a similar problem that i have with modern day DB, in which it’s too clean and lacks a lot of the personality of the earlier volumes.

This is literally the first thing I thought of, and I am so fucking glad that this is the first post.

I mean...acting is a job. All these people are simply doing work. 9 times out of 10 it is likely going to be “i’m just doing this for a paycheck.”

This exactly. Desantis probably would have been the Republican liberals feared if he stuck to his libertarian origins. But it really has been fascinating/hilarious watching him have to play between defending Trump and also try to present himself as a possible “better option” for the presidency.

I kinda hope he does
