Except it’s not really a Gohan movie. Piccolo is an active character, while Gohan is a reactive one. It’s Piccolo who sets most of the plot in motion and acts as the main pov of the movie.

I genuinely enjoyed Super Hero and I’ll even die on the hot take that this is a better movie than Broly. I think my beef with Broly is that while the fighting is probably the best that DB has ever done—all that movie is is the fighting. AV Club has been doing video game reviews for awhile ago.  Hell a couple years back they even had a section dedicated to video game reviews.

I think Dragon Quest attracts an older crowd than Final Fantasy, which is probably why they haven’t felt the need to fuck with it too much.  It’s whole thing is that it is a throw back to the early days of Jrpgs.

nope.  I dislike open-world games, particularly the Ubisoft branded ones because they are just bloated objective lists.   BoTW does Open world gaming right.  To the point that I’d often just ignore the main quest just to fuck around in the world.

I also didn’t play it until years after the fact so a lot of the uneven parts had been sanded away.

Here’s the thing: Yes Ghosting is a pretty shitty thing to do, and it sounds like she owns up to that. But...man if you’re a dude who bought a video game because you thought it would increase your chances of getting laid, well my sympathies can only go so far.

Basically don’t spend money on people you haven’t met.  

I also think that’s a big thing too--it’s super accessible.  Back in the day, you had to watch toonami, or stay up late (or in my case record) the Saturday night Adult Swim anime bloc. 

Like I mentioned in the “Piccolo is black” article, if you weren’t around in 2004, it was an entirely different place. Like yes, Toonami was popular, but there was absolutely a stigma attached to anime at the time that labeled you a nerd—especially you were black.

I know some people seem committed to the “everyone who plays these games have to be an addict.”  But the reality is that a bulk of people who play this stuff more than likely are okay with spending a couple of bucks here and there for potential rewards...especially if it allows them to bypass the grind.  

It really is a trip to have been a black nerd in 2004, where watching anime was the thing that got you called an “Oreo,” no now in which the anime aesthetic is everywhere.
