Serena Williams is a wonderful role model, she is exactly what people with money and powerful positions should be doing. The hatred she has received over her career are obvious racism and sexism intersecting.

Court’s claim is hampered by playing over half her tennis before the Open Era. And the Australian being a Slam no one went to for much of it. She won 10 Australian Opens, there is a solid chance she only wins 5 if the other big players of the time were competing.

Humility is something only required of women and people of colour. No one asked McEnroe to be display humility.

Serena’s behaviour is no worse than many male tennis heroes and they are still worshipped for it decades later.

The other thing is v talent level is very hard to know when one player is wildly dominant. It can be hard to tell who had the best to depth to deal with. 

Nah mate Steffi and Martina and Bille Jean have been very clear that Serena is special and has proven she deserves the title. If they want to be humble they can say each other, Steffi spent her career saying Martina was better obviously.

One thing i really hold highly is that Steffi, Martina and Billie Jean all say Serena is the best of all time.
