The world is a dangerous place. And for women, men they date are the most dangerous human factor. It’s a dangerous factor you can control by doing background checks. So what’s the problem? Some dudes with a history of violence doesn’t get to go out with every woman they asks and maybe a couple fewer women are killed

honestly I probably wouldn’t give them a chance to explain because a lot of people claim that’s what it is.No one is going to say “hey yeah, when I was 15 I sexually abused my niece” without adding “I’m totally innocent I just pled to save my family the trauma”. Which smells a lot like bullshit to me.

A family has just sued the police in the UK because they should didn’t do enough to save their daughter who unknowingly dated a man on parole for killing his wife. You think she’d have dated him if she knew? and once she knew she asked for help, he stalked her and the police and parole officers didn’t take him back

Normal women with the access and ability to. Most women do a basic google search. A woman is overwhelmingly more likely to be killed by a man she is in or has had a romantic relationship with than a stranger so why not have a look and see?

Now playing

It reminds me of the video of like 30 Met Police Officers with shields subduing a man with a machete. Approach, withdraw, approach, withdraw and eventually they got loads of guys and swarmed him. Now they could have called the armed unit and shot him but they took him in in a way that was safe and left no one

it also seems to this European, that your police have no patience to deal with these situations. Sometimes waiting is a good course of action. You can follow a suspect or a person in distress and keep them seperate from the public and wait for the right moment to subdue.

absolutely. It’s always a fear they could take the gun.

It’s almost like the thing that makes a naked man dangerous to a police officer is that very fact that officer has a gun! If that officer is unarmed there is no danger of him having his weapon taken and being shot with it.

My mother was a Headteacher in London and she sure as shit would have fired a teacher for that*. But we don’t have a tenure system which can protect shitty awful people and let them remain teaching.

This wasn’t just Katrina, it was the whole of Katrina and the Waves. This will be the last UK winner I get to see because we either don’t take it seriously enough and phone it in with an aging star or we take it too seriously and don’t get an anthemic and just camp enough to win.

Disgraceful that Bobby doesn’t know that Lulu won Eurovision!

Massive tune!

This.

This shit is exactly why I always carried for my friends as a kid. We could be stopped in a group and the police will leave the little white girl alone. It’s utterly ridiculous that I could smoke weed on the street and I know I’d get a warning from a police officer. Doesn’t matter that it’s London not New York, it’s

I think it was Laurie Penny who tweeted something along the lines of “why must we always accept women’s pain as the collateral damage of men healing”.

it’s not only that woman’s physical safety. Are just dismissing emotional abuse now? Are we dismissing belittling of young women in a way that can undermine their career? Are we dismissing behaviour that is loudly abusive to women whilst letting other men off? Are we?

I got a question. If the turmoil is what makes the genius what is it when it’s just an average piece of shit guy?

My main takeaway was “I take responsibility for my past” is not an apology. It’s not even close to one.

That’s not athleticism that’s conditioning. Which is my point. Guys may be big, strong, fast etc but the way the game is played needs to be learnt both mentally and physically.
