Oh, I definitely like nice looking games too! I just find it so strange to value a game that looks beautiful but doesn't play beautifully like some people do. It kind of boggles the mind hahah

I bought my first Etrian Odyssey game because you could draw your own maps, thinking I would hate the first-person perspective like I did on a lot of other games, but EO really warmed me up to it and I've been much more accepting ever since. Give it a shot :) I think you'll like it a lot more than you think!

A lot of SMT games are first-person battles like this, so if you end up liking Q, then I would start probably with SMT IV and work your way from there. As for Etrian Odyssey, mechanically this game is EO with Persona over it. As you can see, the game still holds Persona's rock-paper-scissor weakness system, but the

I'm pretty sure what happened was Atlus people were sitting around thinking of new games, and one of them was like, "People love Persona right? We want to milk it but with genuinely good content, right? Think of this: Etrian Persona Odyssey." There was a gasp and the rest was history.

The level I can't wait for this game is astounding.

I think a lot of the time it has to do with the specific Gamestop you frequent. Since they're such a large chain, you get pockets of ones with great staff that aren't forced to shove pre-orders and rewards+ cards down your throat. At really bad ones, I can always see how uncomfortable the employees are with it, and

That's where I used to go before I moved down to Austin. If you kept up with them, you could sometimes find some rare games for stupidly low prices too.

I've certainly never seen any trade-in games, at least at my Target. The author and I live in the same area, though, so I must be oblivious or something.

My favorite thing is that a lot of times when I ask someone (say, my brother) why graphics are so important, they reply with the equivalent of "they just are." I'm fine with people valuing graphics - everyone has their own opinions - but a decent answer for it would be nice hahahah.

I was really surprised about the "genuinely friendly" comment about Walmart employees until I read that you're in the Austin, TX area. I am too, and I must say, being in a rising economy really puts a smile on everyone's faces.

Yuri continues to be one of the best JRPG protagonists I've encountered. That guy took absolutely no shit and never really backed down from that, which was more than refreshing.

The size of it surprises me every time. That is one damn big shark.

I'm writing for an indie developer at the moment, and I gotta say, I am rushing a lot of plot development due to time constraints. This isn't necessarily the fault of anyone I'm working with - actually, I've been given way more creative control than I had initially thought and since it's more RPG-ish in nature, the

I do somewhat assume that a person has played the game before, so I sometimes mention things that happen later in the story; however, I go pretty painstakingly through each scene and have a lot of screenshots, so maybe your first venture into the series won't be your final.

Actually, it's just for fun (I graduated last May). If you're in any way interested: letsanalyzeffx.tumblr.com

I actually forgot Scott was on there! I've never seen one of his videos. I'm going to go do that now. Thanks :)

I'm doing a literary analysis of sorts of FFX at the moment, and every "part" is a pun. My favorite is "You Can Call Me Al Bhed" from the Paul Simon song. I really have no shame.

I haven't dived too much into their content to really know anyone else (other than Tara), but I want to get into more gaming news/reviews/general videos, so I'll probably give their channel more of a chance even with this departure.

Those two were pretty much the reason I watched (though infrequently) as well. I'm sure they'll get new talent. It'll be interesting to see.

The saddest thing about that God of War controversy was he was so utterly right. I wouldn't say I was necessarily offended by the trophy (though it did rub me in the wrong way), but it was just stupid, uncalled for, and not even clever. Everyone's so aware of sexism at the moment that sometimes mountains are made out
