1970ish Dodge Dart slant 6 automatic. Similar to this one.

No! At least not the R56s. ‘09 Cooper S bought new, driven hard by son in college for a few years including several runs between MI & MD, then passed to me (his mom) to learn stick shift. Had one minor recall & the ac compressor was replaced under warranty after one of his fraternity brothers backed into the car in

Mom had one of these - ‘70 Mercury Marquis Brougham with a 429 V8! Grew up with land yachts & learned to drive in them. Love seeing these cars . Nice to ride in. Sometimes find myself longing for the space-age fantasyland that was the interior of my favorite - the ‘66 Thunderbird Landau that preceded the Mercury. But

I was referring to the road course, but glad to hear the rest of the complex is still operating.

A brief video of Queen City, just before it was razed.

Darn it - why’d you have to open this rabbit hole?! The remains of the dirt oval at Clark County fairgrounds in Springfield, OH are still visible. Google failed to find any info, but midget races were held at the track in the mid ‘70s. Dad flipped his car on a dusty night there, resulting in a mild concussion. I did

A note on published track locations being vague. My family raced midgets, mostly in Oh & IN, during the ‘70s & ‘80s. Being the heyday of CB radio - as we arrived in town, dad would simply page a “local” and ask for directions to the race track. Never failed. Sadly, many of the tracks of my youth are now gone.

IRP! Remember watching races televised from there & always wondered what happened to it. Thank you for explaining how the demise came about.

Was being built as one of those country club circuits, but the great recession hit during construction. The project went bankrupt & it was never completed. Has been on & off the market for the past several years.

I live less than 10 miles from this. Not a good idea to wander around in the woods on private property in these parts. Seems like more people carry than not.

Needs way more stars!

Rt. 250 FROM NORWALK, OH TO CHARLOTTESVILLE !

It’s not about the cost of the permit!

Needs more stars!

Remember hearing their radio commercials while traveling in Indiana & Ohio during the ‘70s.

The reduction in deaths is due to the multitude of passive safety systems now protecting occupants during crashes. I’m not saying fatalities will rise as these driving aids cause operators to pay ever less attention to driving. Just that the number of crashes will.

Good that it warns you. Now think 5 years from now when fewer of the sensors are functioning properly. And there are more vehicle operators on the road who can’t remember how to actually drive without these systems doing it for them.

I see manufacturers pushing these systems on consumers, raking in the profits as driver aids raise the cost of both vehicles and their upkeep. As the lazy become increasingly dependent on these aids, they will become even less attentive & less capable of driving. There will be crashes due to sensors blinded by dirt,
