I think that you need to get a new rice cooker. My Zojirushi doesn't take that long for 3 cups of brown rice. (FWIW, a 50/50 mix of rice and quinoa tastes fantastic, gives any dish a good nutritional boost, and uses the same 2:1 water/grain ratio as plain rice.)
