Okay, this is goddamn stupid. Yes Balatro uses poker as a starting mechanism. There is no actual gambling.

It’s not terrible. It’s just not great either
It’s the everything has to be a live service mentality, that ruins games and developers.
No, it is so NOT back. Blizzard has done everything they've can to slowly destroy most of the teamwork in this game.
Exactly. Can’t believe all the knee jerk reactions to about this that basically are “But think of Nintendo!”
Am I supposed to be cheering for Nintendy to sue the Palworld devs into oblivion? I am fine with them making Pokemon ripoffs and giving them guns. It’s cheap. It’s kinda funny. I probably won’t play the game.
And if they were just 1-1 ripping off Pokemon, they likely grabbed the 3d models from a third party and made their own customizations. Far more likely (and MUCH easier) than trying to train AI to generate details and color palletes.
There’s clearly a deliberate attempt to make players see these monsters and associate them with Pokemon, and a lot of the designs have obvious similarities - even moreso than other Pokemon-likes. But claiming one creature is clearly a rip-off of another because of one or two design similarities - plant dinosaurs with…
Final Destination teaches us that yeah sure that could happen but death could also come for you standing in the shower. Do you want to die flying through the air at 100mph or wet and naked in the bathroom?

Pepe is actually much like the swastika (or reverse one?) is originally a symbol of peace (Tokyo Revenger cosplayers wear it), Pepe was just a silly frog meme. Around 2015-16 4chan flooded the net with Trump/Pepe memes. You can still spout Pepe and not a blatant 4chan/racist/antisemite/chud. You can just like the…
I’ve been terminally online since america online. I’ve perused endless forums, websites, social media damn well near constantly. I had no idea about this particular whistle, and I don’t care to keep this cornball noise in my memory banks.
Oh boy, can’t wait for my local Best Buy to remove their single shelves of DVDs and CDs so that they can cram in more electronic merchandise that consumers are clamoring to buy, like toys and Arcade1Up machines. /s
Walt Disney gave a thumbs up from his grave.
Except “regional pricing” assumes that because the US has a bunch of billionaires that the average person here can afford games lol..
I love your implication that there aren’t poor people in countries with “strong economies”, or that they deserve to be priced out more than the people of Argentina do.
Weak argument, faulty logic. Everyone knows discounts result in higher revenues (at least generally), otherwise they wouldn’t exist in a capitalistic…
Guess what there are plenty of people in America that are priced out by the cost of a game. The overall health of a country’s economy does not tell you what an individual’s income level is. Some Argentinian could handle a $60 purchase no problem while at the same time an American can at most budget $5 for it.
It doesn’t cost them more money for a copy of the game to be downloaded in the US than it does for the same copy of the same game to be downloaded “in Argentina”... we need to stop perpetuating the idea that “money a company feels they could have made” is the same as “money a company lost”.
