I see you skipped the part where they outlined all this can be skipped if you pay $40, literally demonstrating it is nothing but F2P grind bullshit.

I’ve never almost quit a game because a character told me the same thing 4,000 times in 5 hours until Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I promise that I will never forget that Lanz wants something meatier. Please tell me anything else, Eunie.

“I didn’t mean to mislead anyone.”

I’m not privy to Kotaku’s internal structure, but they’re probably paid either per article or based on the number of ad impressions per article (or a combination of both).

“I hate it here, but I love being here”

Fair point, but that doesn’t give them the green light to charge $70 since that option is too hard to do. They could offer an upgrade path of some kind, for example.

A....a low effort article. You figured it out.

Really low effort, without even a cursory line as to why they should die.

The added accessibility features are awesome. Making people pay $70 for them is not.

What the fuck is this low effort article?

Something can have work put in and still be a cash grab because of the price involved.

Added accessibility is a pretty low justification to actually buy this thing, but I agree with the sentiment that it should be included in modern games. Still, unless you’ve managed to avoid buying/playing the original over the past decade, it’s a hard case to argue paying for it again (or a third time for some people)

ah I assumed it was a typo because I have zero interest in learning more about this guy than what is provided in the article.

Not a typo. Earlier he says “none of his fart collector friends” which comes from even earlier “his multi-million dollar fart joke fortune”.

Goddammit you beat me to it.

I own a Soviet era Ushanka and it is the absolute warmest, best hat for cold Chicago winters.

False equivalency, you want an SSD to be at max speed all the time. There are no tests yet, but it could be an issue and Valve should have done the tests and released them in a press release.

Those random forgotten corners of Skyrim & Fallout had all sorts of interesting things to discover - stories laid out in bodies & wreckage, teddy bear dioramas, all sorts of little curated environmental details.   Which is why I’m a bit worried about the “1000 planets” thing, because it’s way too much space for them

What it immediately made me think of were the sections of Mass Effect 1 with the Mako. Giant open areas which were basically just pretty terrain meshes, with periodic bespoke pieces scattered around, hinting at mysteries and making the whole setting feel like it had some age to it. And I’d be into that honestly, that
