How many slams would Federer, Djokovic, Nadal have if they hadn’t all come about within the same relative era of tennis? I’m not some great tennis historian, but this has to be the greatest era ever for having multiple dominant players.

How does he have a 6.5 year advantage? Federer has had 6.5 years to be further ahead. Does space time work differently for the two? I’m so confused by this comment.

Great write up. I had the opportunity to watch Flutie in the CFL when I was a kid and I don’t think I quite realized just how lucky we were to have him on our team. He was something else to watch, and we really haven’t had a player as dominant since.

I think you’ll see it more, similar to hockey for players who went pro rather than play junior like Matthews or even Kakko. It’s still been few and far between and more likely to happen for domestic players in their own country’s pro league, but more will catch on.
