Actually, Mustangs, Ram 1500s and to some degree Corvettes and Raptors tend to get driven around like Porsches in Germany. Knowing US Mustang culture, it cracks me up every time I see one here...

After wear, gas and insurance (depending on the car) it’s probably closer to $1,000. I never managed to drop much below that with my M3.
What stumps me about VW is that in Europe they are everywhere and even old ones are a regular sight. What’s the difference to the US?
A star for the dunning Kruger effect. Way underrated and under quoted.
Second that. Get the one with Romanian plates (that is somehow in Munich!). What could go wrong?
I see a surprising number these days in Germany. When I grew up (& started to care about cars) in the 90s they were like unicorns and the ones you’d see usually Japanese made mid sized trucks with like 1.4l Diesel engines (no turbo).
Agree and disagree.
That’s incorrect. His job is to fulfill his contractual obligations. Everything beyond that is up for interpretation.
W A G. Lol. Nice pop culture statement (or complete oblivion).
I do. I honestly didn’t realize until now that it spells Mazda backwards. Oh boy.
I’m smack in the middle of Germany in a mid-sized town (150k or so) and I see Mustangs all the time. Not like in the US but I see more Mustangs than 911s I would say. Number would suggest otherwise since Porsche sells about twice as many 911s as Ford Mustangs in Germany.
Your ignorance may be excused but that is literally the same city - David is using the German spelling and you are suggesting the English name ( which is unusual for a city to have in the first place).
I wonder if any of his dads army buddies can register the car as a US vehicle in Germany. Some requirements still apply but I think it’s less strict.
Ok, this is going to come across like a fanboy and maybe a bit creepy, but now that I know you’re at least heading my direction and I’ll be back from vacation by then, you have to stop by in Neckarsulm.
I make well into the 6 figures but I would never consider spending 26 weeks salary on a car - new or used. Maybe 20 but better 15 or so. My last one was about 11-12.
It’s usually available in the US but rarely used for the same reasons US cars /trucks keep getting bigger and more expensive: The consumer culture continues to spiral towards bigger, better, now.
Oberlandesgericht is the German word you are looking for. Not even a particularly long one...
David, if you’re bored and/or your route takes you this way, stop by in NSU (Neckarsulm). I’d offer a room for the night and free WiFi. It’s actually quite a good stopover for car enthusiasts. You can visit the Audi factory here as well as the NSU museum (assuming they are open?)
Say what?
Interestingly enough, 8 years is a pretty common timeframe in which tech platform models are being built and reach profitability (there is a wide range but from my own tech strategy experience, ~10 years is a number many go by).
