I would disagree that they “killed it”. Their passion for it was drained out of them over several years and just when they thought they were out, they got pulled back in: Enterprise. They have said in no uncertain terms that they were done and had no idea what to do with Trek. But Paramount was going to go ahead…

It’s inevitable that someone from the Nu Trek movies would be involved in this. The movies have made money, so... yeah. Bring back Manny Coto and set it in the 25th century. Boldly go. That way it can be separated from the movies both story-wise and in the public perception.
