Well, they were all waiting for Jack so maybe they went to a bar or something. And all of the mysteries were ultimately meaningless because none of it ever really happened to anyone.

It was botched because exactly none of the intriguing things set up in the previous seasons were resolved. They were just dropped. There was no mystery after all; they all died and went to heaven. Granted, it wasn't botched to the degree that Dexter was, but still, quite a letdown.
