And this article highlights why we get larger and larger trucks. And that reason: People are insecure, and that is completely sad. (FYI: The first person that replies with “I use my 1-ton every day”... congratulations, you win... here is your cookie).

Side note: I like trucks, I think they can be very useful in a ton

I have a feeling the target audience this and the Lucid don’t exactly shop at the same stores.

Unfortunately, after one week, it has now depreciated to $75k. :)

Isn’t the “regular” Hellcat Durango like $20k less than this though?

As for Dodge doing this, if they get buyers, it’s smart business for them to push out these special editions on this old and outgoing platform.

I picked up an EV a couple months ago because of the huge depreciation (2023 with under 13k miles for roughly 60% of it’s MSRP). I have the perfect situation for an EV as I have a garage where I installed the level 2 charger, my commute is short, and I have other cars if range is an issue. I haven’t even used a public

I think the new grille looks pretty good.

Ok, Subaru used to make car people cars... When was the last year of the Forester XT with the manual? (I had to look that up, it was ‘08 in the US). Same with the Legacy GT, that hasn’t been a drivers car is nearly 20 years. Nothing wrong with that, it just isn’t a brand for “car people” (for the most part... yes,

No, I don’t have a Subaru, but this seems unfair. I say that because I’ve never met a Subaru owner (excluding the WRX) that cares even 1 cent about cars. I’d bet 99% of all Outback owners spend more time deciding on a new toothbrush than caring what car they drive.

I think this might have been the case previously around me, but there are so many of them now it doesn’t mean anything.

Completely agree with the misleading figures. This is why Tesla (and now Rivian) plan for years of heavy losses until the initial investments are covered. Cost per vehicle is always going to be awful until you reach the scale you want/need.

Looks fun, I hope you enjoy it. My thought though is you said you are going for a rally vibe to handle the streets of Cleveland, but then you say you want to lower it. You aren’t going to get a more compliant ride (and rally vibe) by lowering the car. Again, enjoy, but just wanted to share my thoughts.

I think you are right that those buyers are loyal, but the two problems are that there just not that many of them, (compared to what a car company needs to see for volume), and they tend to be more price conscious. (I had a Golf R which I bought used and have always liked the GTI). Also, for me I wanted a manual so

This makes sense, but your vote is really ND then. I don’t think it’s reasonable to assume you’ll just drop 25% off their asking price, (even if that’s a legitimate response)

Cute? no
Cool? God no
Kill it with fire? Please

Not my favorite, but I do like them. Completely agree on the auto killing it though, this car needs a manual.

I was in complete agreement until this summer when incentive (and therefore used prices) drove the prices down. sticker prices are still very high, but you can get great deals.

Like a couple already said, if those sounds are an option, (that you can turn off), go for it. What I do agree with completely is the idea of letting more sound of the motors come through. They can sound very cool on their own.

It’s better to do this than let the plane rust to nothing, but it is too bad it couldn’t have been restored to it’s original look. Just a gorgeous plane, even if it could never be flown again, it would have been amazing to get that back.

You have confused the word “forgot” with “never cared”.

I get what you are saying, but I also think you are giving way too much credit to people. I would argue most people aren’t trying to be crappy, but instead they are clueless. I see more people paying no attention and not giving an eff than actual maliciousness. (Note: I’m not sure which is worse).
