Right? It doesn’t matter how many steps it takes to start, when all it does is sit in a garage.

To be fair, most of these will never be driven.

I support this notion, although I’d be more inclined to believe of the 275, 265 of them will sit in garages. Your post it great though, good breakdown.

The part of this I’ve never understood, was why hasn’t Musk from the beginning simply said, “As we work to eventually bring a true hands-free driving experience, we’ll continue to offer the most advanced automated features of any car maker”.

How difficult would that be to say?

A rental car.

Sure, it’s probably not going to be a great car, but there is something enjoyable about something different and let’s be honest, hammering the crap out of that thing every chance you can.

vehicle that can haul parts, good ground clearance, $60k budget.

Well, there are only 52 million options that fit that bill in the US at this moment, so this one is tricky.

I’m teasing here of course, but there are so many options that fit this bill it is almost impossible to answer.

Good point, I can’t imagine how inefficient the suspension design is to be this bad. (Or zero re-engineering for a wagon bodystyle is more like it).

I went ND. Now yes, $4k is basically the new $2k, so dang near anything that runs should be worth this. Also, I like wagons, I like manuals... this should be easy. But I just think these are awful. Like punishment for making all the wrong choices in life. So not really a rational vote, but I’m still ND on it.

Totally agree, and I would love to check one out closer one of these days. I’ve had a couple cars with a great driver interface, and you are right, this new stuff isn’t it.

I have the El Diablo, just not the headers. I’m not going to put more into it right now, so I’ll just enjoy the “decent-good” sound I have now. But maybe I’ll get there!

I haven’t sat in one, but photos of the new civic interior look very nice. Now, not one person on earth is cross shopping this, but I agree a bunch of touch screens are not “driver-centric”.

I agree with you, but it somehow still looks better than the other latest “designs” from BMW.

I have a Rogue Engineering exhaust, does make it sound a lot better. But it doesn’t make it amazing. I’m perfectly comfortable admitting other cars sound better than mine. I still love it.

I have the factory headers, so perhaps you are right.

I had the intake first, and that’s all I heard, (intake that is). Which is a different sound, but it’s not amazing.

I wouldn’t say terrible. As others have mentioned, I have an intake and exhaust which make it sound better... and up past 6000 rpm it really does sound pretty good. But compared to something like the Alfa, it’s just nowhere near the best. And stock, it’s downright bad. (And mine’s a convertible, so every sound is

And that’s fair. Was just my initial thought. Maybe I’m still picturing Bernie running the show.

Well, not the best, and I am biased, but I love the BMW S54. The only thing I believe keeping it from greatness is it doesn’t sound very good.

Also, on the complete opposite side of the spectrum, (and no, still not the “best”), but the GM 3800, (especially later series), was excellent. Well built, economic, good and

Great choice. VW’s VR6 sounded good too, but this one is exceptional.

You are probably right and I was looking at it wrong. I just hardly feel like the series has been brought out well from the start. Either way, I hope these drivers get more opportunities because there appears to be real talent in the series.
