Agreed. Nice car, but age and mileage alone seem to make the asking price a bit high.

Even then it’s so hard to find the person that wants the exact same modifications, and also trust that you didn’t abuse it. (I’m not saying you do, but you know the point). And I’m with you on the don’t sell it... I’m not selling mine anytime soon!

Right... wouldn’t it be refreshing if just one seller understood that mods don’t make a car more valuable?

I nearly clicked NP before reading the full ad. I tried to reply to another commenter who mentioned the emotional decision here, but today that wasn’t possible for some Kinja reason or another. Anyway, love this car... might not really be worth $25k... but sometimes the rational decision is just wrong.

I have to say when these came out, I thought they were just God-awful looking.  Over time though, not that I think it’s suddenly gorgeous, but I think they’ve actually aged fairly well.  The green doesn’t hurt either here, so I’d say a nice price assuming an inspection lines up with the ad.

I like the Stinger, enough to consider it for my latest purchase, but do they really sell enough of these to justify 3 engine options?  I’m not complaining, the more choices are great.. it just doesn’t seem like it’ll last.

I think one solution, if Uber/Lyft want the drivers to remain “contractors”, is to include what you mention: Contractors should be able to set their own rates, turn down jobs, etc... Uber/Lyft could then charge these contractors a fee to use their software tool for their share of the profits. I’m not saying either

I don’t think all these special editions are a bad thing. Since most of these will all just sit in a sealed garage, the more Ford makes the better chance one actually gets driven.

VW’s is close

Of course looks are subjective, but I have a Golf R and would never consider this car, solely because of how it looks. I’m sure it is a great car, but I just can’t.

All good info, and I agree with your line of thinking. And to add to the SE comment, a ton of those may be rental/fleet sales. I guess I am simply going back to the thought of if you can sell THAT many units of a product, giving up on it now is not only premature, but you are not good at making cars. Maybe that’s

So $100,000,000 in profit (not revenue, but profit) based on your estimate? (Another comment said C&D reported 166k sold in 2019, so even at just a profit of $600 per car, that’s roughly $100 million in profit per year). No company turns down that kind of profit. More likely they lost money on each, which brings me

I know crossovers have higher margins (as I’ve seen others mention in the thread), but the article says Ford sold 60k Fusions in the first half of this crazy 2020, so here is my take: If you cannot make a profit selling 120k of a vehicle per year, you don’t know what you are doing.

To be fair, Good Buy is ‘GB’ whereas Goodbye would just be ‘G’.  And no, that doesn’t make it any better.

I think you nailed it... it’s a “neat” car.  The switchable tops are fun, but it feels like a $3k car.

Agreed. The previous gen had a giant logo (which admittedly was too big in general), but the sensors were all hidden inside so you don’t have that silly plate.

It’s for someone like my wife who wants a vehicle as functional transportation (she has an Escape now and likes it), but it offers a little more interesting style than the Escape. You know, what 80% of current Wrangler buyers really want. (Yes, I know there will be a ton of people who want to chime in about how they

I’m sorry but this is just a no. I think a modern Wrangler is a good off-road vehicle, and they’ve improved on-road dynamics, but it does not drive anything like a car based SUV on any road, (maybe under say 40 mph it does, but that’s about it).

I think most commenters are missing the point of this transmission. You wouldn’t do this to replace manual cars, you are doing this to cater to those going to other brands for a cheaper automatic vehicle. Hyundai can offer an “auto” to buyers at a lower price point with this inexpensive solution. (I’m saying “auto”

Except that plant made the Cruze. Nothing there would accommodate the Silverado.
