But what if my son grows up to play games and sees this kind of insult? Will he be bothered by it? He doesn’t know he’s autistic.

As an autistic woman, I want to say thank you for this article and especially for using female gamers are examples. Representation of autistics in media and the news overwhelmingly focuses on a narrow archetype that contributes to the under-diagnosis of people who aren’t represented.
Perhaps I can help you feel a little better about your son’s situation. (Or, perhaps I will simply make it worse. My intentions, however, are pure. ;)
One of the worst things about this for me is how invalidating it is for people who have been diagnosed with autism. It was still called Aspergers when I got my diagnosis at 25, but it makes you very self-conscious and the jerks who use the word as an insult take advantage of that. Every time I show any level of…
Great article! As an aspie that wasn’t diagnosed until I was 19, games have been a way for me to explore when I’m not capable of doing so in the real world.
Great article. I can’t tell if I see this used as an insult more now that I am a father of an autistic child, or if it’s just come into fashion as of late.
I like it but needs a little muscle. The Jacket looks big on him.
If only all game devs, or at least more of them, were half as good as Jeff.
Dude really tried his hardest to please the toughest crowd in the world.
Those two mistakes makes this a shit article? That’s really fucking harsh.
You anger the baseball gods, and their wrath is swift.

Relevant: I once saw Mason Plumlee drop spinach dip all over his sweatpants at a bar in Portland.
I will never not be amazed that the Blazers convinced the Nuggets that they needed to sweeten the Nurkic pot with a first-rounder to get Mason Plumlee, who, btw, had 0 points on 0-4 shooting in 16 minutes off the bench tonight.
I think it’s the issue of “We’re not going to use you, be someone else”.
This interview with RunAway is really interesting. They’ve gone through a lot to get to this point, as it turns out:
the danger here is that it’s unclear what, if any, face they could put on it, because it’s a kinda oddball return to the wild west of the internet with unclear rules over who’s regulating what... at least right now! by the time it reaches the House, there might be more information beyond “we don’t want to do the thing…
Thanks, I will. I’ll even recommend it to more of my friends all thanks to you.
Your cancellation inspired me to not only upgrade to the digital deluxe edition of the game, but also to negate your cancellation by finding one of my friends who wasn’t gonna buy the game, and buy a copy for them as a gift in support of a fantastic group of game devs with a great deal of integrity.
I would like to remind everyone that this is not censorship and that Playtonic as a private business has the right to express itself as they see fit. If they do not wish to include voice work by a controversial figure in their video game that is well within their right. Jon’s free speech was not violated in any way…
That is some real ‘logic’ you have there. Back to the greys with you, troll.
