You’re wrong; it’s money. It’s money in quick, measurable, strip expenses, drive revenue, exit ASAP ways. That they hold no other gods sacred is the problem. The secret sauce that maintained viewership was not understandable. This is the world I’ve worked alongside for 20 years.

The “Ads Complaint” post was technically the domino that fell instead of these stick to sports posts today.  Thus the plug in ads were that slush fund for the big hats to get their money and run and disappear

Yep. Since they’re a VC, destroying the blogs was part of the plan from the beginning. It’s becoming messy since the staff/writers aren’t going down without a fight.

This is a true story: When I was in my dirtbag 20s, my friends and I used to hang out at a crappy bar because we loved the main bartender and the culture there. Then the scumbags who owned the bar fired the bartender we loved. He went to work at another bar and we followed him there. The first bar is closed now.

I literally had to push my qualifying exam for my PhD from July to December to make time to help with wedding details that no one noticed. We did have an open bar though, which I was happy to plan. Pay a bartender a couple hundred for the day, allow a tip jar, and provide beer, wine, and cocktail menu ingredients. The

If our worst fears come to fruition and deadspin gets shut down, the one silver lining will be that the last post that actually stuck to sports was one about the Browns being all Brownsy.

As someone who was once part of a similar insurrection against arrogant, incompetent, and condescending management, I want to applaud all of y’all for today’s showing. David, I wish to register a complaint. You’ve filed this story to Politics, but this is erroneous, as this is clearly a Sports Story.

I didn’t even include California Formal.

I feel like venture capitalists would consider theft a sport, right?

Man, I love people who self-own through being hilariously inept. You know, pumpkin thieves, thin-skinned vulture capitalist owners of blog sites, those kinds of folks.

Almost as bad an idea as Autoplay videos, or letting the bozos at G/OBros Media delete posts critical of their garbage ideas!

Running them into the ground is now precisely the point. No rational owner attempting to actually run these sites in a way reasonably anticipated to result in medium- or long-term profitability would behave this way. The auto play ads are sapping goodwill and certainly driving readers away, or will soon. One of the
