That’s great. An engineer who came thru my place said the wood used in my 1930’s house was a hundred times stronger than modern wood because of its slow-growth density. Those doors will probably last forever.

HGTV is a soft place to land during the holidays since my siblings and I refuse to watch Fox News or the Hallmark channel and my mother doesn’t want to listen to anything with too many “swears.”

IKR? They made a good joke about on “Big Mouth.

I love “This Old House” even before I owned a 1930's house flipped by a person with very limited skills. I installed my own electrical box watching those guys and the house only caught fire once!

Psst . . on the list, it’s “Hartsfield” . . . Also, the chicken and waffle place owned by Ludacris at the airport is legit delicious.

I’ve said it before and I’ll take that bet again: Jason is a good place plant.

Hooray! I love this show. It’s one of the only things that I’ve seen that starts to show what a deeply weird town is Atlanta.

Dude. Didn’t she see that automatic shade/curtain system?? I’d be bed dancing as well. I STILL fantasize about getting a set-up like that one day.

Yeah, we were worried about 1984 when we really should have been keeping an eye out for Brave New World.

. . . I mean, I had a crap late-80s church group that didn’t care about trauma of taking us to see it at a watr park wave pool, so let’s spread the blame. (They were overtly homophobic, too--not like my parents, so let’s give bonus points.)

This movie may tie with The Godfather for “most improved movie from source material.” I remember being a nine-year-old on a road trip and grabbing Jaws from a hotel’s take-a-book-leave-a-book pile (I did not leave a book) and thinking: this book is dumb.

First time I saw it was at a water park wave pool. Which, by the way, is a terrifying way to see it. I’d rather be standing in line in the 70s, for that bit at least.

Oddly, Chomsky came up in my late-in-life grad school class, where my late-middle-aged professor told us he hates Twitter and Noah Chomsky does as well. Don’t know why that was used as proof or something? What I’m saying is grad school is odd as a grown-ass adult.

. . . I guess the first scene where the doctor says, You’ll never cycle again, with a montage of her fighting her way out of the wheelchair got cut?

I love Bodega Boys so much. I’ve just been watching their crazy ride from the sidelines for the past few years, like they’re buddies of mine who are getting their dues.

Ah, I’d forgotten “Raising Hope” was 2010’s. That’s one of the few network shows I can remember that ever looked at how tough it is be in the bottom 20% of earners in the US, but still goddam funny.

I can only imagine once he really upped his questioning game, he and Janet spent a lot of time together: Chidi: But then why did Hegel . . ? Janet: His testicles super unique. Chidi: Oh.

Hey, it’s Native American Heritage month! Let’s drop this kind of use of “totem pole”, ‘kay?

I know the team behind her is massive. But eventually, it’s her talent and her creativity and her decisions which have made so goddam much money for marginally talented and connected people, I hope she takes back every dime owed.

Good.
