When the cashier sticks my receipts in the bag, I immediately, before leaving the line, take it back out and put it in my wallet.

On that point, I will agree.

Yep. I have a couple of such upgraded WRT54Gs that were bought at Goodwill or Salvation Army for $5.

I guess I would have to see it. I would just not have expected that it would work.

You remember correctly, but that is only valid for the tuned frequency. Going above the tuned frequency, you start to get side-lobes that, while not as strong, are still there.

Oh, so I should have no problem at all just throwing gigabit into a hub at half duplex?

It does look nice, though. Aside from the wire coming from it and the screw terminals where the wire connects to the foil, it could almost pass as a straight-up decoration.

This is not HDMI over Ethernet. Ethernet is not in here. This is HDMI over Cat 5e/6. The signal is still HDMI; it is not encapsulated in any manner in Ethernet packets; the contained signal is still HDMI; there is no Ethernet.

I believe it would not work, because the signal carried over the two category 5e cables is not Ethernet, but rather HDMI that has been conditioned to travel over category 5e cables. This is no different conceptually than using a balun/impedence transformer to send audio over the same cables.

I also stand by you.

Yep. This comes up every single time someone talks about an HDTV antenna. Worse, in my area, one station is VHF-low band. Now the good news is that I live close to that transmitter site, so that one can come in on a toothpick, but if I were, say, 20 miles away, it would be useful to have an antenna around 176cm

Another trick that i have employed is to remember a few key temperatures. 5°C is about 40°F (both reasonably round numbers); 20°C is 68°F (what I generally consider to be room temperature); and 28°C is pretty close to 82°F (digits reversed). You can combine these with the trick above and just adjust as if 2F° = 1C°,

I am right-handed, and my right eye used to be my dominant eye. Unfortunately, that ended about three years ago, as it has suffered some injuries, and my left eye is now dominant due to blurred vision in the right. Prior to these injuries, my right eye was 20/20 and left was 20/25. Now, the left eye is still 20/25,

With rights come the responsibility to use them wisely.

I'd like to add a few other things here.

Bullseye.

Well, here's an idea: Try it one way, and see if you like it. Next, try it the other way and see if you like it. If you like both, use the one you like better. If you hate one, use the other.

Just a thought: If you don't encrypt everything then the high-value targets stick out by being encrypted. That reduces the amount of work necessary to crack what you want to protect by giving them a big pointer right to where the juicy stuff is located.

Yep, I'm on the language bandwagon also. I studied Spanish, Latin, French and Esperanto between fourth and 12th grades, but have let them all rust. I would like to brush them up and maybe add German plus one or more asian languages.
