I do this too, but for a different reason. For me, it keeps my OCD at bay so that I am not obsessing over 2¢ difference that don't matter enough for the effort I'd be putting in. (Hint: even at minimum wage 2¢ is only worth 2.4 seconds of your time).

You say "occlupanid" and nobody will know what you are talking about. You say "bread tag" and people will get it.

Actually, it's the amps that will kill you. The mnemonic is "current kills". Amps measure current.

If the batteries were from 1970, they would be lead-acid or, at best, nickel-cadmium, and for the battery capacity you get, you couldn't lift them. Your complaint is factually incorrect.

"It's about as functional as you're going to get in terms of training you for activities like picking things up and standing up."

Truth! As long as none of them sound "horrible", then this holds up. Even AM radio can sound quite nice when listened to on its own, on a good radio. (For the record, most modern radios suck at AM)

This should be @funstuff234, but the comment system didn't seem to pick that up.

Awesome. Glad to hear it. Enjoy.

I often wonder if they were being ironic when they named the new interface "Unity". Ubuntu has united a great number of Linux geeks and non-geeks in a way that no other distro has, but the introduction of Unity has caused more division than unity.

Roger that. My eyesight is bad enough without adding that to it.

My solution would be not to convert anything at all. If you ripped it from a CD, keep it lossless, what Mr. Mann said notiwthstanding. Why? because disc is cheap. Only convert it if you need to do so for compatibility.

Open source?

Okay, so then you do have Dolby Digital, as a necessary subset of what you've described. Um . . . Not sure how to help you get the rear speakers going again, as every receiver is different in this regard. If I had the receiver in front of me and could muck about with it, I might be able to get it working again,

LOL, fair enough.

These combo pills make perfect sense if you have insurance with a copayment only. For instance, if you have someone on Enalipril, Metoprolol and Amlodepine, this person might pay $20/each per refill for name brand or $10/each per refill for generics. The cost is between $30 and $60 each refill for all three.

If your amp receives a bitstream feed from your playback device (i.e. either S/PDIF or TOSLINK), then the amp is working with the original, undecoded digital data straight from the disc. Many amps have a compressor setting on them that works off of metadata contained within that stream. My cheap-ass Sony amp has a

This might be a good topic of discussion with a Buddhist monk. In some schools of Buddhism, if not all, the monks don't eat anything after noon.

Stig's cousin - Trust me, I will notice the extra light on the panel. I know this will escape the attention of many, but I do see it.

Yeah . . . Gawker Media would know all about that, wouldn't they?

I did this with my UPS. I think I can figure out if the power has failed.
