Modern safety systems are a big problem as well. People feel compelled to upgrade to a higher tier to get the blind spot monitors etc. This can push the car up thousands of dollars, as other things are bundled in those tiers as well.

340 is more than adequate for a starting point. Power to weight, and power delivery is what tells the real story. 4.6 to 60 is far faster than you can rgularly use on public roads, and this is indeed a road car.
