I think Coyne does handle song-writing (not alone but has a handle in it), I’ve just always assumed the reason they sounds good is because they have Steven Drozd and Dave Fridmann. Coyne’s midlife crisis though has made wanting to like the band a fucking challenge though, he’s just a giant douche.
