I've always thought Awesome Show had a very anti-consumerist bent, and that's the whole point of the entire Cinco corporation with all the the products you don't need that require bodily mutilation in order for them to work. It's the biggest recurring theme I see, anyway. But mostly I just think it's hilarious.
I see their act as something completely different from what Will wrote, I don't see them making fun of comedy, I see them satirizing mainstream American "culture." That's what all their comedy is about. "My Name is Earl" did something similar, but Tim and Eric do it in a more surreal mode than "Earl's" absurd…
