The main difference is that those old games were actually “finished” before release, rather than being pushed out “good enough” with the intent to improve things later.

I was surprised at just how much more sympathy I had for the theatrical cut after seeing the Snyder cut. Fitting that into something that could be played in theaters was going to be difficult no matter what, and then meeting the studio’s mandate to change the tone was going to be nearly impossible without reshooting…

But the studio always regarded the movie and TV wings of the DCEU to be separate and non-equal, and that the creators who excelled in television were not worthy of working on the films.

Also, they should have made Sym a support again, because the character clearly needs another rework.
