It is definitely one of the worse examples of a F2P conversion. They nickle and dime you to the point that the game is not really playable at all without paying. They should have just left it subscription because that is the only way to play it.

Yeah, I have been building my own systems for 20 years. Their minimum suggested specs are achievable at that price, barely, but the minimum specs are below what you are going to need to actually use the Rift for gaming so the $900 price point is bullshit.

Go with the monitor, I recently upgraded to a 1440p/144hz/freesync monitor and if you can run it the difference is night and day. Way more generally useful than the Rift anyway.

They knew the $350 ballpark was a lie and they knew that made the $1500 Rift + new PC very unlikely and bordering on a lie and yet they said it anyway and then whether people misinterpreted it or not they let it stand because the truth would have killed the hype. Pretty shady.

The whole situation sounds like they just didn’t want to admit how expensive the Rift was going to end up being until the last minute in the hopes of having built up enough hype to convince people to buy it anyway.

Rebate for Arkham Knight? The game ran perfectly fine for many of us. I beat it before the patch came out with zero issues.

Ah, the internet, where everyone is a programmer and yet is also terrible at googling. It isn’t half as hard as you make it sound and if you only got 6.5 hours of game play out of it you skipped everything and probably should have played something else.

Sometimes it is impossible not to judge a work based on the fandom because they endlessly highlight the elements of the work that do not appeal to you, even if those elements are a minority of the thing. You obviously didn’t really try then. KotOR and KotOR 2, and Jade Empire all work on Windows 10 with a little fiddling and there is a large volume of threads describing solutions.
