in case you are curious.... I just did some quick pH strip tests. 1 t baking soda in 1 T distilled water was 8 pH; in 1 T Cetaphil was 7.5 pH. Cetaphil alone tested at nearly 9 pH!!!! And that's considered "gentle" and dermatologist recommended! The baking soda actually nudged the pH of Cetaphil down.

one of the anti baking soda "articles" I saw also said you shouldn't eat salad dressing bc it has vinegar in it and the pH of vinegar is 2.2 and can dEsTrOy you. Hahahaha!

ha! I wonder, bc the same commenters demanding sources from me keep citing to me as their source a thread from Reddit. So I went to google to see if I could find anything scientific other than basic chemistry about pH of individual item and posts on Huffington Post and Buzzfeed and Reddit, and I couldn't (though I

(OMG what is up with the anti baking soda people here? I feel like I am having to defend myself to the death here by saying that baking soda has worked wonders for me. What?! I didn't sign up for this! Are you finding the same thing happening to you?)

then no, I guess I've got no sources except my own ugly face. *shrug*

you said anything 9+ is inherently bad for your skin. But soap is consistently 8.5+ and is fine to use. And by "industrial soap" I mean industrial-made as opposed to the old lady making soap in her basement in 1890.

I just know that I've pH tested (nerd alert!) the soap I use on my skin (body and face) at 8.5 and I've turned out just fine (well, in a manner of speaking).

Nope. it's fine. You make a weak paste. You use gentle circles on your face. You use it once a week.

YESYESYESYES! Baking soda is so fine-grained, it's wonderful for the face. Mixing it with a liquid facial cleanser is the easiest, but yogurt and fruit purées and honey are great too!

baking soda is one of the most gentle Exfoliants to use on your face. Make a paste with your favorite facial cleanser. Use two to three times a week. May be over-drying in sensitive skin, but oil-havers like me don't have a problem. Or use a combo of like-sized micro grains, such as rice flour or chickpea powder.

I wish I had you to go to when I was an adolescent! Hell, I wish I had you now...

beautiful! This made me misty eyed. LLAP.

funny! I was going to write that Beck is my second favorite Scientologist, but I got lazy. That'll teach me.

Elisabeth Moss: My Favorite Scientologist

He needs to send me $800 and I'll see what I can do about helping him out.

LOL! It looks like this comment IS getting all the stars now! :)

Why does the comment not have ALL THE STARS?!

listening to that song right now!

this whole album was my everything !

yes!
