True story: my great grandmother, literally, was Native (I actually know this). She died when I was maybe 18 or 19 - before she lost her memory, she talked a lot about her family's history, growing up Native and victim to racial prejudice. My life, on the contrary, has been full of white privilege and class privilege

Lol I had a craft day at my house recently and I only had provided medium gloves. Someone mentioned they may not fit and I said "oh come on, just OJ them on."

i met people who were all kinds of unprepared for life. just a "how did you make it to adulthood?" sorts of people.

Instead of punching her in the face, like I wanted to, I said, "how 'bout I don't charge you for the haircut, and we'll call it even?"

Karen Milton:

I lived in Dallas for a couple of years, and when my locally born co-workers started talking about mums, I had NO idea what they meant. I was fascinated. I still am. I'm a sucker for youth Americana whatsits.

Thank you for posting these. Where I lived in Kentucky had this tradition, too. I had nearly forgotten about it, honestly.

Holy crap, that's...well, I have no words. (Texas) Kids these days?

I would definitely be that overly friendly person on the street or in the coffee shop who races up to tell you how much I love your Delirium jacket.

It's weird that this is the silver lining here, because there definitely are people who would just have taken the picture without even asking. I honestly don't understand what anybody is doing anymore.

Gah I want one! You seriously rock!

i want that sooooo much right now!

LOL.

To be fair, Terry Pratchett is literally the only reason I have any idea what a Morris dancer is.

You should add actual chickpeas to see what happens!

Think of the gingers, Yoko.

Now playing

It's from The Graham Norton Show a few months back, when the boys were pole-dancing for X-Men - enjoy! :)

I don't know where you live, but I get lots of blank stares when I say "celiac disease" and I live in a university town.

Can we use this thread to descriptively illustrate the .gifs we would use?
