I can't wait until Ivy Bridge comes out so that I can get Sandy Bridge cheap. Despite AMD being cheaper, Intel processors are generally faster in comparison of similar models. Plus, I open the door of possible Hackintosh in the future.

People claim to have a problem with keeping their Desktop clean; Downloads is the directory always full and unorganized for me. My desktop has only two icons in Windows and none on Linux.

Mono may disappear. Microsoft just hasn't done anything yet. I also haven't heard of a use scenario for Objective-C except for iOS. Both of them are more geared for their platform unlike C which is pretty cross platform.

If I can write a novel on a netbook, you can write a feature on a netbook. ;P

You could stick with C. Just compile it for Linux and make sure you're using Linux or cross platform libraries when coding. What language you use doesn't really matter unless it's not available to the OS. Objective-C or C# are examples of languages not to use for a Linux platform.

Approving.

I'm not sure about CSS generators since today's the first time I've heard of them. I was mainly referring to things like Dreamweaver.

That's why I said it's fine if you're using it to see changes as they happen instead of opening the page in a web browser or uploading it to the server (PHP).

You don't know what WYSIWYG means do you? It's where you have a GUI and design the website without using any code like Dreamweaver or iWeb. Snippets are fine because you are still coding.

Real web developers don't use WYSIWYG editors*. So, if you use something to generate your code for you, I won't consider you a web developer. It's all fine and dandy if you do for a quick site or something, but I won't.

Considering most people don't even use the main Twitter web page, that's unlikely. Most Twitter clients see TL links and extend them. I know for a fact Plume and Tweetcaster do. They even incorporate the service into the Twitter client so that you don't have to go to the site to do it.

What if your tweet is only about 10-20 characters longer? Does that warrant a blog post? That's what I use it for. I actually care about making my tweets legible so I use those extra characters.

I may have to check it out then, if you say it's that good.

AOKP for sure. I don't have a Nexus, but it's been the best ICS ROM for my Incredible 2. Others are saying they won't switch to CM9 it's so good.

I'm actually ok with them integrating the contacts because it's dumb having the same contact info in two places when you use both services.

I think it's your machine. I've got a Pentium 4 and the only time VLC has acted up was with .rvmbs, the one file type it can't handle well.

It's just a webtop mode. Your just using the hardware of the phone to Ubuntu on another machine that consists only of a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and maybe battery.

Um... VLC isn't meant to play music really. I'm an abnormal user when it comes to that. VLC's primary use on a machine is for videos (usually).

I've never understood why people can't stand VLC's ugliness. When I use it, it's either minimized (playing music, usually only a few songs in a loop) or fullscreen (movies). I don't really see the UI too much. Also, it's not too bad stock. It's not like it's Windows 95 themed.
