ISPs usually charge extra for static IP addresses. I know mine does. I luckily get one because my father needs it for work when he remotes in. I reap the benefits.

What's wrong with names? A lot of people access their computers of the network and it's less boring having names than "Laptop" and "Desktop". Plus, those with Linux (may do this with OS X too, I don't know), the hostname is also what you see in the Terminal. As someone who spends a great deal of time in it, it'd be

I'm not a big fan of it. I think the Microsoft Store logo would have worked much better. The four colors are more icon than the "flag", which I wouldn't even call Windows 7's logo a flag.

I believe it's because they're both completely different products. One is a method of launching applications, the other is a site to use as a repo for them. Both OS X and Ubuntu are operating systems, so I think Canonical would have more of a problem.

Yet Apple will still make you pay the $30 price for the OS. That may not be much, but that's still full price for their OS.

They even help the upstream FreeBSD kernel by adding stuff they don't want to re-implement every release.

They won't use Lynx or Ocelot because those are Ubuntu codenames. Apple wouldn't want anyone to be confusing their closed garden and that open system. Plus, Canonical may have trademarks on them, but I'm not sure.

The Droid X had buggy software because it was the first to get Motorola's Gingerbread update. If you get a Nexus device or at least something unlocked, you'll see. I switched from my Droid X to an HTC Incredible 2 and I couldn't be happier. Even stock was much better than Motoblur. It's even better with CM7, MIUI, and

I'm friends with the dev (at least I consider him a friend. Met him on Twitter) with the dev, X13thAngelX working the hardest on CM9 for the D2G. He's a good guy.

There are comments from years ago because I'm sure this is just an updated article.

He may still have it, but Whitson has moved onto Windows has his main OS.

I was thinking the same thing as OnoOyes, but then you made a good point. Thank you for enlightening me.

That is true. Plus, ICS isn't on enough devices to warrant it being the exclusive platform for new apps. Gingerbread (I think) is the largest market share right now, so they should at least try to support it too. I think the whole fragmentation of Android is mainly Google's fault because they don't enforce the

It's pissing me off. They're pulling a Microsoft. Except, the older OS isn't that old. Gingerbread is only about a year old. With the IE9-XP debacle, it was with a ten year old OS that was two versions behind. Yes, Gingerbread is technically two versions behind, but it's not our fault Google didn't release it for

It looks great, but I could never use something like this. The text isn't bold enough to be easily read. I like being able to just glance at an app and know what it is. You would have to use this for a long time before it was drilled into your brain where each app was.

True. I didn't listen to music as much as I do now. IRC could be good there also. I now have a 21" and that 17" as a secondary display. The 17" has a high enough resolution (1280x1024) where it's not as noticeable when you move windows across. 1280x to the 1024x768 was terrible.

If I'm not mistaken, you could already sync bookmarks with Chrome and already had Incognito mode with the stock ICS browser. I know for sure you had bookmark syncing because I was able to do it the short time I tested ICS on my device. It's nice to have an official Chrome port (hopefully we get extensions), but those

If it's the 11", it may be too small to be much of use with that huge monitor. I like my displays being somewhat decent size. For example when my 17" was my primary, I didn't use the 15" that I had acquired because the resolution was too small even with the added screen real estate.

Why not use Minus? It's 10GB for free and I believe it has drag and drop. I use it when sharing files that I don't want in my Dropbox.

For my iPod (a device that doesn't get a whole lot of use in the app category since getting an Android device), I just have categories I make. It's not that difficult to use them if you make them unique enough that an app can only fit in one. Of course, I don't have a ton of apps and only use three screens. I have my
