I apologize, as that was not my intention, but I can see how it came off that way. It felt like this article was specifically talking about the disproportionate amounts of domestic violence against women enacted by men, and to me it seemed that the original poster was attempting to derail that discussion.

Yes, there is potential for abuse in every sorts of relationship. But the heterosexual ones are the most likely to leave women in the morgue.

It doesn’t really matter if you believe me. It has happened to me frequently. I have also never asked a man for his height , but that doesn’t mean that no one ever has. Further, there is a plenty of literature out there that backs up the invasive nature of society’s view toward women’s bodies. This is the real, lived

Women aren’t asked about height with as much weight, but they are asked about hair, hair color, Botox, fillers, weight, plastic surgery, bust size, age and all sorts of invasive things on a regular basis.

I think I missed the point when Jezebel’s commenters became uncritical “Choice” feminists without any capacity for reflection on the greater implications of why things are the way they are.

It makes you feel fidgety because it should. A 29 week old is viable. If you give birth to a 29 week old, it has a very good chance of survival, so it would be, in fact, a baby. So, while I am pro-choice, the idea of shrugging off the termination of a preemie is ghoulish.

I came here to say the same thing. These are just Cool-Girl-Pick-Me girls. It’s so depressing. How do they not see that they are doing *exactly* the same, sad song and dance of “I’m not like other girls - I’m a cool girl!”?
