That Screen Rant article says it upgrades Harley to abused onscreen T&A who ends up with Deadshot because that’s what women are for (fucking) and has a lot more Jared Leto’s Joker, neither of these things seems like an improvement to me.

They did do reshoots, a fact that has apparently lodged into my brain without my permission.

I don’t think they have a moral objection to the mixed release.   It’s that they didn’t meet the terms of the contract AND they didn’t renegotiate when circumstances made the terms of the contract inconvenient/expensive.
