In my experience, its less that it’s replacing just meetings and more that it’s replacing meetings AND any conversation between two or more people that used to just happen face-to-face. Only a small bit of that has been filled in via messages for me - most people still insist on talking it out.

He wasn’t even getting away with it because of that, but because that allowed us to build this whole myth around him.

For many, he was an example of what more equitable storytelling might look like, a model for how to create compelling women protagonists who were also very, very fun to watch.

I’ve been suffering this for awhile. It’s compounded with people using similar platforms for socializing. One of my friends (who does NOT work) has gotten really into virtual trivia hosted on Zoom and even though I like trivia I have noped out of it a lot.

Marriage is a labor scam. 

I read this as a teen and I remember being mostly confused. I read a shit ton of romance novels then too, and it seemed like a poorer representation of what women want only needed a veneer of literary cred to make people go absolutely crazy for it.  People said it was art but I was pretty sure it sucked.
