Congratulations, Andy.

It sounds like your father was a teacher & a coach, yes? It’s clear your father meant and means a lot to his former students, who will also be grieving his loss.

the Han is GREAT.  thanks for sharing.

Krispy,

I wonder how many people realize how close we were to universal childcare in, get this, 1972.

I think this in part a love letter to your mom.

I love how you’ve been a problem solver and don’t seem to feel sorry for yourself in the least (what a good attitude), but, damn, having a kid shouldn’t ensure so much deprivation.

this gif never gets old.

CGI dogs take me to the uncanny valley just like CGI people.  Cats? no so much.

I’ve loved Issa Rae in everything so far

Aww, man. This is terrible. Queen of Katwe is such a great little film (thanks, Mira Nair), and Waligwa played a great friend to the film’s protagonist Phiona.

I’m not Jewish (‘though I had a number of Jewish boyfriends in my salad years, but that’s an entirely different story), but I so embrace the concept of “tikkun olam,” or repairing the world. This work is supposed to be the work of all of us, but most of us just manage, at best, not to wreck the world more than it’s

not really a cover, but a different version of C-Lo’s “Crazy.” Love me some Shawn Colvin. She does have an album called Cover Girl. Maybe listening to it would cheer you up more?

our doodles get a HUGE amount of exercise (they go with a dog hiker/walker 4 days a week—3-4 hours of serious running/playing/swimming) and on two, long (4-5 mile walks) the other days, if not the dog park, and my golden doodle still has a tendency to put on weight (the other doodle, who is more poodle-y, not so

goldens are fabulous dogs as adults. Doodles, on the other hand, can stay crazy well into middle age.

thank you for including all of us in the lord’s work that you do.

I love long-nosed dogs (perhaps why I’ve typically had Std. poodles).  This is an awesome video.  thank you.

congratulations on going to treatment. This is such a big step.

thanks for writing this.  It’s not your job to educate everyone, but I appreciated how informative your post is.
