Years ago, I was in a creative writing class full of male, would-be-auteurs, and the best story of the term was written by a kind of mousy, quiet girl, who produced this amazing gender-flipped narrative about a future earth, where menstruation was regarded as an important, monthly cleansing of hormonal build up.
