I wonder who Lupita's stylist is. Every dress she's worn has been a knockout.

"I want to know where this vitriol and meanness even comes from."

If you like Historical (or her contemporaries, for that matter), may I introduce you to Lisa Kleypas. I also love Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Jennifer Crusie for great contemporaries. A supernatural twist- Kresley Cole. A more formal historical- Mary Balogh. Then there is Kelley Armstrong, Jayne Ann Krentz, Sarah

J R Ward´s sex scenes areawesome. Then I love me some Nora Roberts, mainly in her J.D. Robb iteration.

Yeah, I don't get that argument either. Marriages between two really ambitious types are the worst. Somebody's gotta stay home and take care of the kids! Somebody has to give up the job they love and have been working so hard at when the other person lands a dream job in a different state. Ron being more laid-back

I'm surprised at all the "Ron and Hermione would never work because she's so much more ambitious" posts. Partly because I don't think Ron's that unambitious (what he sees when he looks in the Mirror of Erised, the fact that he makes the quidditch team/becomes prefect, the fact that he ends up co-heading the auror

You are absolutely right. Raising the minimum wage is a very smart stimulus program because everybody funnels their money back int othe economy!

Yup, I remember some studies being done on the matter and a reasonable minimum wage meant a stable economy, on top of reducing poverty. After a certain point, rich people just start sitting on their money instead of spending it.

The people writing the policy for so long have benefited from nickel-and-diming their own employees that they rather pathetically cling to the status quo. I don't think economics matter here as much as psychology. So much of what I've read from rich people is that they have a rapacious hunger for money, and there will

I remember a quote from a pillow manufacturer CEO that I'm too lazy to Google atm, that goes something like, "rich or poor, you only need one or two pillows. so it'd be better for us if -everyone- can afford one or two pillows than some people able to afford millions while others can't afford one."

The irony is that there's an upper limit to what a rich person will spend in the real economy (that is, purchasing real goods and services, not just trying to make money by moving money around - you know, driving GDP growth), so when people talk about trickle down economics, they're assuming that every additional

One of my FB friends said she hoped minimum wage wouldn't go up because that would mean inflation would go up. She also whined about her middle class income not rising. I can't believe I know people that fucking stupid.

I couldn't agree more. Money doesn't "trickle down", it trickles "up". Raising the minimum wage is good economics in the long run.

Exactly. And right now, with corporations raking in record profits, they could easily increase wages without actually raising prices; they would just have to settle for ridiculous profits instead of obscene profits. But I suppose investors wouldn't stand for that. I mean, it's not like they already pay a lower tax

I would rather corporations pay their workers a fair and living wage, even if it means product costs to consumers increase slightly, than have those corporations make the american taxpayer be part of their profit system. I have no issues with supporting social services as part of my taxes, but I DO have a problem when

The nice thing about raising minimum wage is that you're immediately giving more money to people who are guaranteed to go out and spend it and put it back into the economy, as opposed to raising wages for the rich, who will save and invest it. Can't blame rich folks for doing that, but it's not economically desirable.

You're a mortician? THAT IS SO COOL.

RE: Morty, in the first ads he says that his job is doing the laundry - so lets not be super haterz now. Division of household labour takes all sorts!!

she does look amazing! she's gorgeous. and i love they way she handled this. now i know why mohr always plays a dicky douchebag in movies-he doesn't have to ACT! i thought his 15 minutes were up anyway. i bet they are and no one told him.
