Besides, or along with, the heavy judgement regarding queer representation, what bothers me about the review is that it’s critiquing 1987 behavior/norms by 2020 standards. What’s completely ignored is the traumatic significance of the AIDS epidemic. You absolutely cannot judge anything in regards to the LGBT community

I didn’t want the whole review to turn too much into a diatribe about queer representation”

I’m a bit surprised that none of the reviews I’ve read so far have pointed out the obvious that Dani is being haunted by one of the ghost school boys from Russell Mulcahy’s video for Total Eclipse of the Heart.

Matt Lucas even referred to it as The Thin White Duke. People really don't know their Bowies...

When they showed the initial design, I suspect half the audience were screaming “that’s not Ziggy Stardust - that’s Aladdin Sane!” at their TV. Once it was done, I’m sure they were shouting “I don’t know WTF that is!”

That ending... never has a finale of Lucifer ever made me want to watch more Lucifer!!! Terrific.

I loved this episode a lot more than the two previous ones, to be completely honest. I am always a sucker for Amenadiel, and watching all the nuns fawn over him was delightful. And I did indeed shout out, as Personal Jesus kicked in, “I cannot BELIEVE this is the first time this show has used this song.”

The one and only complaint that I have about this show is the timeline. If Lucifer found out a little over a year ago about Chloe being a gift from God, then that means that Dan has been through the fucking ringer. He got divorced, fell in love with the actual Goddess of creation (lost her), then fell in love with the

That’s not really fair. Jujubee was top 3 in all of her seasons (and I missing a fourth season somewhere?), and when you get to that point it’s all something of a crapshoot that is determined by factors aside from “not being good enough”. Ru was simply not going to give the win to a queen who first graced our screens

Must add how gorgeous did Derrick looked in this episode. Derrick baby I am sorry for what I said about you, I was so wrong and you were so hot, I mean, so right.

After the Canada episode I enter Twitter “canada drag...” and it automatically finished with “... race judges”. Everyone is hating Jeffrey Bowyer Chapman at the moment because how mean his wink and smile were, to the point that I was shouting to the screen “who the f you are you talentless bitch to talk to those

And like, yeah everybody had the same amount of time but look at how poorly half the queens used that time before criticizing Jimbo on minor details. How dare they try to tell me that Jimbo didn't look amazing

That’s a little harsh. The edit Shea got this season made it look like she felt entitled to the win (see also: Alaska in AS2.) She still deserved to win.

Why did Shea do the robot? How familiar are you with Janelle Monae and her albums? She has three and one of them is called ArchAndroid. Shea’s robot dance is a direct allusion to Janelle’s use of robotics in her songs (even her newest album made reference to it! “My random access memory wants you to come again”. Does

All Star is really an excuse to crown the queen who came really close to winning in their original season. Chad Michaels, Alaska, Trinity, and now Shea. The only anomaly was S3.

I think Jujubee really won the season overall. I think Shea’s family story was compelling throughout but losing S9 got old because....well join the club-nobody has ever been guaranteed the crown.

Well I’ve never really cared for Ru’s music (it’s white noise to me), but I think the queens did the best with what they were given. RUWU and Kitty Girl definitely allowed them to be much more of themselves with the verses and choreo, but at the very least they all hit their marks and it was entertaining enough.

This week’s Canada’s Drag Race episode was alot better than any one of the episodes in AS5, even though the mini-challenge was a retread. Recap: Rita Baga, Lemon, and Jimbo are competing for the crown. There are also other contestants.

I do think it is a testament to the cast that even as aspects of the season dragged it down—half of the challenges, the lip synch assassins, and I’ll add, the over-produced drama (e.g. the whole everyone in the bottom twist)—it ended with some pretty good episodes and me wanting to see more of these queens.
